Roovez

There we go I've saved The Suns headline writer at least 30 seconds of creative watch time by coming up with the nickname for the partnership of Rooney and Tevez which yesterday took 'Boro to pieces. If Nani had set the ball rolling with what should surely be a goal of the season contender, it was then the interplay of Roovez that had us United faithful drooling.

Most good dramas have a strong third act (I'm not sure I they do, but it sounds a strong claim so I'll stick with it) and bearing this in mind Roovez conjured up a third goal of simple, complicated beauty. As Ferguson noted it took guts, courage and sheer skill to execute let along think of the back pass from Rooney that allowed Tevez to stroke the ball home his pass intially having freed Rooney into space. The ensuing celebration allowed us a glimpse of this United future when Roovez, Ronaldo, Anderson and Hargreaves congregated to celebrate. This bunch of players really, really want it. And for now the football they are playing - fast, skillful simple and complicated - should be applauded.
